AlBUM OF THE WEEK

Stapled Shut, 'LA Times' demo cassette, 1996/?

Greetings my friends. This week is some ripe, ripping shit, that you should look into. Mentioned lots of times before in some way or another, Stapled Shut were a short lived powerviolence group from Covina, Cali, they were hard as fuck and they slayed. Check this mention from a month back. Anyways these guys put out several splits and comp tracks, one 7", and that was pretty much that. Until now, here's some kind of weird demo recordings that sound almost identical to the aforementioned 7"s, who knows what the deal is, when, etc.. I unearthed it with little effort from this dude's blog which doesn't devalue it any at all, in fact it makes it more valuable because this shit will never see the light of day. The whole thing is that there are a good handful of excellent and never before heard songs here, that I guess didn't make the cut on their releases but are killer, no question. My best guess is that the material on the World of Noise 7" and the split with Lack of Interest occurs before and after the unheard songs contained on this demo tape, who really knows. Pure rage recorded onto tape, leaps and bounds ahead of whatever else. You've got to hear it to believe it my friends. Blasting shit to keep your head blistered.. All the songs are about weed and fucking shit up. This shit kills. Long live Stapled Shut, and long live blogs that post this obscure hardcore so that we can pretty much hear some never before heard shit that completely stomped ass.
