Jodorowsky's Dune

After filming The Holy Mountain, Alejandro Jodorowsky was initially on board to direct the silver screen interpretation of Frank Herbert's Dune. It was going to star Salvador Dali as the Insane Emperor. Legendary French comic and sci-fi illustrator Jean Giraud drafted the storyboards, who later went on to draft for the movie Alien. The film was eventually thrown out for not being "Hollywood" enough. The job was handed over to David Lynch.

Here is the complete story of The Film You Will Never See

Also, this is a documentary about artist Jean Giraud/Mobius. It is almost an hour long, but worth watching.
