excerpt.... Pitchfork: Have you got a lot of response for that Merriweather Post Pavilion cover?
RC: [laughs] Yeah. Yeah, people hate it. A lot of people really hate it. A lot of people really love it. A lot of people thought it was quickly thrown together, which is not the case.
Pitchfork: No, it looks like it would take a lot of work.
RC: Yeah, the gesture itself is very simple, but it's actually based on some pretty academic research by this Japanese optical theorist. We actually ended up having to-- even though it was recreated and redrawn-- we had to license it from him, just because we didn't want him to sue for stealing ideas. But yeah, a lot of people really hate it.
