chill

This is a great recording to let roll as you engaging in your daily domestic routine or perhaps during a session of professional dilly-dallying. Some great footage of one of the greatest band-o-playas of all time. The Charles Mingus Sextet featuring Eric Dolphy is some bad shit. These guys are cool in a way that our 21st century minds cannot even comprehend. This is also one of Eric Dolphy's last recorded performances which is sad because as you will see dude was a shredder. Add a little bit of Jaki Byard gettin sweet and nasty on some ivorys and Clifford Jordan's thick-ass tenor sax (not to mention Mingus is playing bass) and you have yourself just about the sickest sonorous blend to hit the white man's (or any man's - but there sure are a lot of white guys in europe) ears. enjoy.

awww yeah. dolphy was the shit..! that was a great band. they put out so much incredible music it makes the head spin. all the 1964 concerts that got released and/or bootlegged are amazing. I think this is one of the best groups of people to commit sonic waves to wax, ever.

so long eric...
