Today is Casimir Pulaski Day


Apparently this holiday is only really celebrated by Polish people in Illinois, and it happens every year on the first Monday in March. It recognizes a US cavalry officer who was born in Poland and wound up fighting in the Revolutionary war. Here are some songs about it:

It is also celebrated in my hometown of Savannah because Fort Pulaski is there, on the way to the beach. When I was 6 I saw an alligator in its moat and that was so rad
